Hi Rapids,

Good afternoon everyone! Thank you again immensely for the texts, the remind messages, every bit of support you showed me yesterday as we dealt with the weather and a meet cancellation at Rivershyre.

This email has a lot in it, so please read through as we have a very busy next few days:

Thursday Morning (tomorrow):

Practices as normal at Riverwood BUT coaches would like to time the kids in the individual events so we will be running a mini-meet/races tomorrow during your swimmer(s) designated practice time. IF YOU ARE ABLE TO HELP TIME, please show up and help us out! These times will be unofficial but will allow swimmers and coaches to prepare for Divisionals.

Thursday PM (tomorrow):

Practice tomorrow (weather permitting) at the Augusta Aquatic Center from 4-6pm!

11 & Up will work on starts and turns from 4-5pm

10 & under will be from 5-6pm

Please sign-in at the front desk and we are covering the cost for everyone.

Friday AM:

Practice at Riverwood Pool as normal

Sunday DIVISION 1 Divisionals:

Coaches Meeting: 8:45am

Warm-ups: 9:00am - 9:50am

Officials' Meeting (hospitality room): 9:15am

Timers' Meeting (weight room): 9:30am

Meet Start: 10am

WE STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS:

• Awards - 1 person for second half to help in the weight room with awards, you will be able to step out and see your swimmer(s) swim.
• Deck Control (Main Doors) - 1 person second half to help ensure only volunteers, coaches, and swimmers go through the main doors. You will be on deck and able to watch your swimmer(s) swim.
• Heat/Lane Coordinator Lane 7 & 8 - 1 person for entire meet or 1 for each half. This person will just be behind lanes 7 & 8 and ensure the swimmers stay in order of the heat sheet and do not miss their event. This is for all swimmers not just Riverwood. Great position to watch races!
• Shepherds 12 & Under - 2 needed for second half. You will be able to watch your swimmer swim and second half is lighter on the shepherds.
• Stroke & Turn Officials - 1 for first half and 2 for second half needed. THIS IS A CERTIFIED POSITION, you must have the certification AND worked one meet this season.

I have to turn in Volunteers on Friday morning so PLEASE PLEASE help me get these volunteer positions filled. You can login and sign up via rapids.swimtopia.com. Thank you!

Monday June 26:

Allstar swimmers ONLY will practice Monday am in Riverwood.

Allstars Meet is Monday evening with 10 & Under swimming at 6pm and 11 & Up starting at 8pm. 

I will have our volunteer jobs as we get closer to that meet and we will not have heat sheet or list of Allstars until Sunday night.

*** Erin Kyser had a great idea to put together goodie bags for our Allstar swimmers. She is heading up this project but if you are willing to help or donate items for the goodie bags please contact her at 864-991-2813***

Tuesday June 27

PARTY TIME! We do not practice Tuesday morning but we do celebrate Tuesday night.

Banquet will be from 6:30 until 8:30 (estimated). We will have Chick-Fil-A nuggets and Publix popcorn chicken, drinks, candy, and some chips for ALL swimmers (sorry not entire families but swimmers, if you have food left over after all swimmers eat we will open it up to everyone).

Awards in the Barn will be first then we will set up for our Team Picture (don't forget your Rapids shirt) on the pool deck then it is FUN RELAYS time!

***Bringing back the parent relay for the Banquet, get a team together OR reach out to me if you are interested in swimming. The kids love this so please consider participating***
