Hi Rapids,

Good Morning! 

We had a great meet last night at West Lake and that was mainly made possible by our very special volunteers...our 12 & Under Shepherds last night! They had very limited space, no clear path to the blocks, and kids not staying in place. Kelly Ruth, Nichole Goldner, Jennifer Hayes, Jennifer Smith, Ali Quinn and so many more swim mommas stepped up last night and got our youngest swimmers to where there were supposed to be even at the extent of their own sanity. Thank you is not enough to all our volunteers, we could not have these swim meets and the team without the amazing parents that step up and help each and every meet!

TEAM RECORDS BROKEN Last Night:

• Girls 6 & Under 100 Freestyle Relay - Maliyah Vann, Brooklyn Globensky, Kenna Marteney, Gabi Goldner broke the team record set by Madelyn Clem, Ali Donosky, Ella Perez, Evie DeRossi from 2010 with a time of 1:48.12
• Girls 6 & Under 25 Freestyle - Maliyah Vann broke Gabi's record set earlier this season with a time of 19.13

Great job all swimmers on working hard, trying new events, and representing our neighborhood team with the perfect example of sportsmanship!

My favorite moments from last night:

1. Embarrassing Molly Marshall on the block during her every last summer swim event after 14 years of swimming summer swim.

2. Our Crescendo race...always one of the best moments of our meets. Can't wait to see this crescendo team race at Divisionals!

3. AND of course the Adult Relay race, mainly because it shows these kiddos that this is fun and it is not about winning but what you put into it ;)
