Upcoming Weeks - Divisionals & AllStars Breakdown

Hi Rapids,

Good Morning and Happy Weekend!

As we move into the second half of our summer swim season, I wanted to take a moment to explain the end of the season and the rest of our timeline.

Timeline for the rest of the season:

Tuesday 13th - we swim at West Lake (more details on that to come)

Tuesday 20th - we swim at Rivershyre

Friday 23rd - I am working on scheduling a practice at the Aquatic Center to get everyone introduced to the Aquatic Center prior to Divisionals

Sunday 25th - Division 1 Divisionals *more details below

Monday 26th - CSRA Swim League Allstars Meet *more details below

Tuesday 27th - Team Banquet & TEAM PICTURE!

Divisionals 411:

We are in the top division within the league and our divisionals is for all teams in Division 1 to come together and compete at the Aquatic Center for the Division 1 Championship.

ALL swimmers can swim at Divisionals no matter their time, the only requirement is that they need to have swam in at least two meets in the season.

For new swimmers and families, the practice we schedule at the Aquatic Center is a great opportunity for your swimmer to come acquainted with the Aquatic Center, so I highly recommend making it work if you can.

AllStars 411:

To qualify for the CSRA Swim League Allstars meet your swimmer(s) has to swim in Divisionals. The time they swim at Divisionals is what is used to determine their eligibility for the Allstars meet.

CSRA Swim League Allstars is a huge achievement and should absolutely be celebrated! A swimmer has to be in the top 20 of all swimmers in the CSRA Swim League to be able to swim the event in Allstars. There are over a thousand of swimmers in the league, so Allstars is all about recognizing those top 20 swimmers.

For planning sake, the league publishes a Top 50 report each week so you can see whether your swimmer(s) has a chance at making the top 20 in their events. The report is found here on the league's website:

https://csra.swimtopia.com/weekly-top-times

***PLEASE NOTE*** if your swimmer is ranked 25 or even in top 30, there is still a possibility they could swim in Allstars BECAUSE ALL SWIMMERS are limited to ONLY swimming 2 events in the Allstars meet. That means if you have a swimmer that is in the top 20 for the 3 events they swim at Divisionals, they can ONLY chose to swim Allstars in 2 of the 3, opening up a spot for another swimmer.

WHAT I NEED NOW:

  • OPT IN or OUT of Divisional and Allstar Meets on the Schedule: this will allow the coaches to focus on ensuring the swimmers swimming at Divisionals get a chance to swim any events they have not yet and plan for Divisionals.
  • NOTE ALLSTARS has TWO CALENDAR events: one for 10& under and one for 11&UP - please just opt in to both or opt out of both (don't worry about the age, we will take care of that with entries)

If you have any questions not answered above regarding Divisionals, Allstars, or our next several weeks, please reach out!

Let's GO RAPIDS!
