Riverwood Hosting West Lake on Tuesday!
Hi Rapids,
Good Morning! I can't believe it but our last home meet of the season is here, on Tuesday we host West Lake!
IMPORTANT: we are going to take our 2022 team picture before the meet. We will try to take this right at 4:30 so we will need swimmers to arrive early with their TEAM SHIRTS on over their bathing suits.
Reminders:
- No Parking on Grass and please note there is a ton of parking over at Middle School.
- Concessions will have food, drinks, candy, etc. for sale so come hungry :)
- 2022 Merch including T-Shirts and Tumblers are for sale at Concessions
- We have 17 swimmers currently undeclared for the meet, if you received an email this morning..please mark attending or not attending in the system ASAP.
- TEAM PICTURE at 4:30 prior to warm-up
- Warm-up at 5:00pm for our team
CHANGE FOR THIS MEET:
We are making a change to the way we do Shepherding. We are assigning Shepherds to age groups and gender. So we will have 2 Shepherds in charge of 7 & 8 Girls and another 2 in charge of 7 & 8 boys for example. We will ONLY have Shepherds for 6 & Under, 7 & 8s, and 9 & 10. If your swimmer is 11 and over, THEY WILL be responsible for lining themselves up behind the blocks prior to their events. We are also adding a LANE COORDINATOR volunteer position to this meet to work behind the blocks to ensure the swimmers are lining up in order and taking off when they should.
Attached are the volunteers we have for this meet so far. Please either login to rapids.swimtopia.com and sign up for the open positions below or email me and I will sign you up. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!
VOLUNTEERS WE STILL NEED:
- Cleanup: we need some additional help during and at end of meet with taking trash to dumpster and helping clean-up
- Finish Judge (1 needed for each half): this job tracks 1-3 finish in heats and hands out duckies
- Lane Coordinator (1 for each half): this is the new job that will have a heat sheet and run through the swimmers behind the block to make sure they are in order.
- Runner (2nd half): collects timer slips and DQ slips and takes them to computer
- Shepherds 6 & under Boys: 2 NEEDED!
- Shepherds 6 & under Girls: 1 NEEDED!
- Shepherds 9 & 10 Boys: 1 NEEDED!
- Shepherds 9 & 10 Girls: 1 NEEDED!
- Stroke & Turn Officials: ALWAYS NEEDED but requires certification that can be taken online.
Thank you so much for reading my emails and taking action on items as soon as possible. We appreciate you all so much!
Let's have another great meet - our last two should be the most competitive yet!
GO RAPIDS!
