Hi Rapids Families,

Good Morning and Happy Friday to you all! This email has information regarding our first away meet on Tuesday, June 8th at Rivershyre's pool.

Notes from Rivershyre:

All parents have to sit outside the fenced area. Volunteers and swimmers are allowed on deck and parents can come inside to watch their swimmers then go back outside of fenced area. 

We will have concessions: hotdogs, pizza, hamburgers, nachos, chips, candy, drinks: gatorade and sodas.

Parking is limited. No parking on grass due to parents in that area. Park down the street and carpool if possible.

Rivershyre is a 5 lane pool and quite small. Please prepare the swimmers for sharing space on the deck and parking again is VERY LIMITED.

IMPORTANT:

• Last minute changes to meets can seriously impact relays. We know things come up and that happens but just a friendly reminder that if your swimmer(s) are in a relay that they impact 3 other swimmers in the same race. Please let us know once reviewing a heat sheet or in notes with opting in if your swimmer(s) cannot participate in a relay for any reason. Thank you!
• Volunteers for Rivershyre attached. Please note I put for 8 timers per half but since they only have 5 lanes we will not need all of you...but it is good to have extras in case needed. Additionally, they are not asking for verifiers but we have two in case needed.
• STILL IN NEED OF:
  • 2 Second Shift Shepherds
  • 1 Second Shift Stroke & Turn

OTHER UPDATES:

1. We have some extra Riverwood Rapids T-Shirts for sale. If you would like to purchase one, please come and see me (Danielle Oldham) at practice or the meet on Tuesday. They are $20 for adults and $15 for youth sizes. We will sell whatever is left at our last meet at Concessions.
2. End of Season Banquet is now added to the schedule: Tuesday, June 29th from 7pm to approx. 9pm. We will have dessert in the barn along with awards then we will have fun relays in the pool. If you are interested in helping organize the banquet, please let me know...I am trying to gather a committee now :)
3. Swimtopia App: Just a reminder that Swimtopia has a mobile app which is amazing for tracking events and your swimmer's times in meets.
