Hi Rapids Families,

Good Morning. Please take the time to read this email in full as it is not just about opt-outs but volunteers for Fermata.

We unfortunately have already received late opt-outs for tomorrow's meet. I am sadden that this continues to happen because we have put every measure in place to make sure that you have the ability to opt-out ahead of time in Swimtopia. 

Here is the impact of late opt-outs to our team, our volunteers, and our coaches:

1. Relays have to be scratched...causing swimmers that were in a relay to lose the opportunity to swim in that relay

2. Relays have to be updated...causing swimmers to be moved around and possibly swim something they are not used to swimming

3. Entries have to be updated by coach...this takes several hours

4. Volunteers like myself have to update the heat sheet in the meet computer...this can take half a day!

5. Volunteers like myself have to update printed timer sheets...this takes half a day on the day of the meet!

All of these changes take time and introduce room for errors to be made when making last minute updates. Additionally, last minute opt-outs can cause an issue with points and ultimately cause our team to lose the meet.

As a reminder, if you login to rapids.swimtopia.com you have to ability to opt-out to all upcoming meets BEFORE the deadline is even close. Right now we have Houndslake and Divisionals open for opt-in and out!

Alright moving on, thank you to those swimmers and families coming to our one and ONLY away meet tomorrow. Please find attached those signed up currently for volunteer positions. We are still in need of the following:

1. Shepherd: 2nd Shift

2. Stroke & Turn: 2nd shift

3. Score Table/Verifier: 1st and 2nd shift
